Much Needed Breaks

I took a break from blogging and now I’m currently taking a break from running (more on that below). I needed to focus on the “have to get done” rather than the “would be nice.” Not to say I’m not still endlessly trying to tackle a to-do list that grows by the minute, but I’m recognizing that incorporating the things I love to do is important as well. So I’m trying to get back in a blogging routine and build up my skills and wellness career.

What has happened since we last talked? The biggest news is I got engaged! Ah! Crazy! It still feels like a magical dream and words can not express how full my heart feels.

I ran another half marathon (with an awful head cold – yuck!). It’s one of my favorites to run because there’s so much crowd support! I didn’t PR as I was feeling pretty miserable that day, but I’ll take a fun 1:45 any day!

I’ve been studying for three intense certifications that I’ll be talking more about in the near future. Let’s just say there’s currently A LOT of note cards in my life.

And, of course work work work. We became short staffed right around the time I took a break from blogging (coincidence… not really).

I generally post my running training on Mondays, however, I am not in training right now so my workouts are looking a little different. I am purposely giving my poor legs a break as I started feeling a lot of old injuries pop up again right before my last half marathon. Right now I’m on active rest (rowing, hiking, walking, strength training, etc) and once I feel ready, I’ll be incorporating about 3 runs a week through July. Then starting mid August, I’ll be back to seriously training for fall half marathons.  I feel like crushing that 1:40 half this year and if there’s a 10k race this fall, I’d like to get under 45. It’s looking very possible, but for now resting is the most important thing I can do to get those times later this year.

My plan for this week is the following:

25th

Happy Monday Folks!
